You guys know I have a love/hate relationship with Tool. First, I made money on their CDs and got flamed by all the Tool fanboys. Ironically, I had caught the restock and now currently losing $10 a CD on them and it’ll probably get worse. Then I made some money on their tickets and tried to do the 2nd show in Denver and lost quite a bit of money. Made some money on their poster, but overall, got gun-shy about their 2nd leg of the tour.
Anyway, their Portland show went on sale last Friday. I was ready to buy them, but was busy buying Dave Chappelle tickets in Iowa instead (huge mistake.) I was so flustered with the Dave tickets that for some reason, it clouded my judgment and I passed on the $37 Tool tickets. Looking back in hindsight, $37 sounds REALLY CHEAP for a Tool concert. Sure enough, the lowest get-in on Stubhub now is $121 before fees. That’s about $105 net, so easily at least a $40-50 profit per ticket. UGHHHHH. Hey sometimes, you just pick the wrong horse you know.
A few Slack members did buy some of the $37 Tool tickets and profited nicely. Those profits were of course offset by the Dave losses. In this game, you win some and you lose some. Just gotta pick more winners than losers. Join my private Slack group to learn of these opportunities.
