I got a call from Vivid Seats yesterday over some physical Blackpink LA soundcheck tickets I had resold on their platform. Apparently the end buyer couldn’t get in because for sound check at that event, you had to show up to WILL CALL and show your ID and proof of purchase to get a bracelet, which then let you get into the event. Of course this wasn’t possible, and I told the rep that ALL the sound check sales were going to have this problem and not just me. She then told me that all the sound check events she’s been to in the past have had this requirement. She then said she’d get back to me.
A few minutes later, she calls me back asking for a copy of my ID. I wasn’t comfortable sending this to a random stranger, but I was sort of stuck at this point. I reluctantly sent in my ID with my DL number redacted. Then a few minutes after that, she calls back again asking for the email address and phone number. At this point, I was getting kind of pissy because I don’t see how the ID wouldn’t suffice at this point. I gave her my email, and said that my phone number shouldn’t matter at all if they know my email already. I didn’t hear back from her again.
Of course the price difference between regular GA and Soundcheck+GA was only $10 too! So this was unnecessary headache for an extra $10. I was already in the hole by a large amount on Blackpink, but to have this happen was like rubbing Himalayan sea salt in the wound.
Lesson Learned – I think if you’re reselling sound check through the official platform like TM or AXIS, I think you’ll be fine. However, if you have hard copy sound check tickets, you may want to just sell it w/o sound check to avoid this extra hassle.
