Back in January, I wrote about Stubhub’s lousy “buyer protection” program where I had bought some mispriced FLOOR tickets and Stubhub gave me some section 7 seats instead. My all in price for those 4 tickets were $243. I thought I’d have to go through the process of re-selling them back on Stubhub, but the odd thing was that the tickets were automatically deposited into my Flashseats account (I had no idea until I randomly logged in a few weeks ago.)
Anyway, I listed them on Flashseats instead of Stubhub since for some reason, Ariana LV wasn’t taking any seller commission! Yes! Meaning if you listed it for $200, your take-home was $200. INSANE! Anyway, I priced them competitively for just $225 a piece. They took a while, but yesterday, I got this email:
Just a $650 profit (+$270 ROI) from checking my phone one night… Now the question is – is this a scalable play? I don’t really think so. There’s just too many variables at play. The biggest variable here is that Ariana tickets are ON FIRE and that’s how I sold them for what I did. If this was Blackpink, I could have lost my $243 investment. Haha. Anyway, the lesson learned here is – if you see a price mistake on Stubhub, you may want to roll the dice and gamble. That’s not crossing the line right?!?
p.s. Current prices on those floor seats are actually slightly below what I sold these seats for.
