I’m not exactly sure why I bought these B2K tickets. I had vaguely remembered they were a boy band back in the 90’s. I bought their Newark stop and went with floor seats, which had a face of $100. I put this at a 3 on the risk/reward scale, but in hindsight it was much much worse. Long story short, I lost about 33% on the tickets. Let’s go over the mistakes I made so you don’t make the same mistakes.
First lesson – they played at the Hulu Theater at MSG (5,600 capacity) in New York about 3 weeks earlier. The Prudential Center has a 19,500 capacity. Shouldn’t that be reversed? They should play the bigger venue in NY, not NJ. My mistake was not seeing they were already in NY earlier. Clearly the hotter buy was the Hulu Theater purchase.
Second lesson – hip hop and rap usually don’t resell well. And wtf was I thinking buying an old boy band that wasn’t even as popular was Boyz II Men? I earlier balked at buying Backstreet Boys, but apparently they resell pretty well, so I clearly picked the wrong boy band. I should have stayed away from this one.
