Introduction
Last month I had reported that giftcards.com had changed their Mastercards to Metabank. Nothing major had changed since then. However, around June 1, a new box showed up on checkout, asking you to accept the terms & conditions:
When anything changes in the MS world, even something as innocuous as making you accept the terms & conditions, it makes you worry. Well, it turns out the worry was not unfounded. I received some cards in yesterday that had a new BIN – 517169. I went to try the new BIN at my usual liquidation avenue and they did not work (others have confirmed as well.) They will still work at some places, but definitely not as flexible as the old BIN.
What now
This is a huge blow to a very scalable MS avenue. I’m going to stop ordering from giftcards.com for a while (or maybe only do 1/10th of the volume as before.) Maybe I’ll retire and go play some baseball.

1 Why do you prefer to purchase MC instead of VGC?
2 Am I right to assume there has been no comparable change to the VGC? I can see, I have not seen it.
3 In light of GCM lowering their purchase max (maybe) and in light of this report about giftcard.com, do you have any other sources for purchase?
