Introduction
Up until last week, Staples POS systems would allow you to buy third party gift cards using Staples gift cards. It was very highly cashier YMMV, but if you’re friendly with your store’s cashiers, this could have been a play for you. However, according to a HH last week, it seems they have now hardcoded against this. The reader believes they rolled out a new POS update recently. Another one bites the dust.

Seems like it was user error, so should still be good for time being
this was a small potato type deal anyway. Not like you could run 100k thru it a month.
Hmm, though GC to VGC still worked as of 5/11 at my store.
Try it lately and lmk Ted. That should be blocked now too.
GC still worked today on VGC. The POS did have a newish interface, at least the credit card swipe terminal did, that prompted for rewards phone number and what not.
