Introduction
I had written in almost the foot note of my last Uber post that Uber referral credit could be used in Uber Eats. This was great because Uber ride credits ($15-$20) were usually higher than Uber Eats referral credits ($5). Well as of March 3rd, 2017, the credit no longer works. Still unsure whether Uber Eats referral credit works on Uber Eats; I’m guessing they still do…. Oh well. Sad, hungry face. Goodbye cheap eats like this:
I have several $5 credits from the Dr Pepper promo entered in my Uber account (free sodas at work); FWIW, those discount promos still show up on my “Promo” tab on the UberEats app. I haven’t used UberEats in March yet, but it sounds like at least THAT promo crosses over. Hopefully the AMEX one does as well, because that’s the only way my family can use all those $15 monthly Uber credits from AMEX.
Dave, thanks for data point. Seems this was intentionally killed then. We’ll wait and see how the AMEX one works.
Dave, can you try to place an Eats order and tell me if the$5 promo shows up in your cart?
The $5 Dr Pepper promo discount doesn’t show up in the cart, but it didn’t show up when I made my booking in Feb, either. But it showed up in the final receipt. I guess Uber is able to distinguish between the Dr Pepper promo and the referral (and likely AMEX) discounts.
At least your Ubereats cost counts towards your travel redemption ($300) on CSR 😉
BOOM! Haha. I usually don’t have a problem with the $300 so don’t want to pay unnecessary delivery charges with Eats.
Oh no…that probably means that the uber credit with the platinum card is only going to be for rides.
That’s a good point Nancy. I’m not sure. Depends on how they implement it. We’ll see.
That stupid “perk” may be what prompted this change in the first place.
whoa…conspiracy theory that actually may be true…
