Review – Four Points by Sheraton Las Vegas East Flamingo

Introduction

I was in Las Vegas recently for a meetup with some of my readers.  It was pretty last minute for me, and so I had a choice between the Hyatt Place for 8K points, or this Four Points for 3K points.  Both were around $150 cash and sold out due to the Diaz vs McGregor 2 fight.  Clearly, 3K SPG was the right decision.  In my old age and lack of Founder’s card, I just needed a place to crash instead of being in a casino hotel on the strip.

Checkin

I didn’t check in until around midnight.  Note that the front door closes at around that time and you’ll need a key card to get in, else there is a phone you have to pick up to call reception.  Check in was a breeze; nothing too special.  Didn’t really get recognition or anything as a lowly Gold SPG member.  I did get 125 points though.

WiFi

Wifi is based on an access code, which the front desk will tell you.  Not sure how many devices you can have, but I assume they are using the same code for entire hotel.  The signal was pretty strong, so no complaints

Room

When I was walking to my room, I kept walking and walking down the hall.  Eventually I realized I was at the end of the hall and thought I scored on a room upgrade or whatnot.  Well, it turns out my room was an ADA room!  You can see pictures below.  My only gripe was the shower leaked into the bathroom, and so after every shower, I’d have to throw 2 towels down to soak up all the water.  This wouldn’t happen in a normal room with a shower tub.  I remember reading someone complaining about being in a ADA room and getting some kind of comp, but I was fine with it.

By the way, the room came with a bottle of water and they restocked it on the second night.

There wasn’t too much noise since I was at the end of the hall, but it seems it’s not very sound-proof since I did hear the people above me and some doors slamming.

Oh and I noticed a red mark on the down comforter (could have been blood.)  I guess I really should have complained, but I had extremely low expectations (a step above a Motel 6,) and it barely exceeded my rock bottom expectations, so that’s why I didn’t bother to complain.  I really should have taken a picture of the stain and said something but I forgot.

Conclusion

For 3K SPG points and a 5 minute Uber ride away from the strip, this hotel can’t be beat.  I’m not sure if I would stay here with the wife though.
