Long time Miles per Day reader, Vinh asks:
“I booked a United ticket for my friend and now he owes me 80K points. How long does a person to person Hyatt points transfer take?”
Great question, Vinh!
Let’s take a look at which card you should use to gain more Hyatt Points first.
With the Chase Sapphire Preferred card, you’ll earn 40K points on signup! You would also earn 3X at restaurants on the First Friday of the month!
With the Chase Ink card, you can earn 50K points on signup and earn 2X at gas and 5X at office supply stores. You can then transfer those points to Hyatt (almost instantly.)
Now if you get the Chase Hyatt card though, you’ll earn 2 free nights anywhere in the world on signup and a free annual night up to Cat4 every year you pay the annual fee.
Those 2 free nights on signup can get you a stay at the Park Hyatt Tokyo, which runs nearly $800 a night! That’s saving big money with little travel!
Wait, did I mention 2X at gas stations?
You can also transfer those points to United to fly in First Class. Ignore that photo though. That’s Cathay Pacific First, which you can get if you sign up for the Citi AA card:
Oh wait, did I ever answer your question? Were you asking about flights or hotels?
Are you still reading this at all? Why did I write such a long post when I could have done it in 1 line? What’s with all the weird photos?
Answer – less than 24 hours after emailing it in!
Dude next time you need a trigger warning! I almost threw my phone across the room; luckily for us I was not holding my baby at the time.
learned something new today. Hyatt points can be transferred to UA eh? 1:1? … what about the other way around? gotta make use of those DSUs somehow!
No, he xferred his UR to Hyatt to then xfer to me. I was okay accepting Hyatt back instead of United.
Oh gosh, it’s been so long since I’ve seen a post like this that I almost puked
Hope you knew the post was a parody…
Yes 🙂
Hilarious. I was like wth does this have to do with his question?!…. then my brain caught up.
=)
Ok, what am I missing?
Ken, you must have stopped reading MMS then.
I did. Too many circles and arrows 😀
A+, would parody again
Thanks. I’ll be here all week. Don’t forget to tip your waitress.
