Introduction
About 4 days ago, there was a sale on this Sailor Moon Bluray set for $19.99 at Best Buy (still for sale, so buy it if it’s in your local store.) Usually when Best Buy has a sale, Amazon will match the price. See the Keepa chart above. Notice the orange Amazon line and how it dips to $20 and is now back to $45. So, if you had bought them either on Amazon or Best Buy for $20 and rode out the sale, you could sell these for $40+. NOTE – you can’t actually sell these on FBA because the MSRP is over $25, but you can on eBay, but that’s not the point of this post.
To buy or not to buy
The decision to buy these types of deals to ‘ride out the sale’ is usually tough. I currently only pull the trigger on only 50% of the items. I may move that up to 100% since I am a BB Rewards Zone Elite member and have 45 days to return. So if the item’s price doesn’t bounce back up, then I can just return. There is no surefire answer since every deal is different. For instance, this is currently one of those, “Should I buy or not buy? Is this sale temporary or a long term price change?” The only way you’ll know is through experience, research and learning about the actual item / category.
