I forgot the actual saying, but it goes something to the effect of “Just when you think you were handsome/rich/wealthy, there’s always someone more handsome/rich/wealthy.” It would be like if I were to walk around bragging I had a million miles, and then one day I meet someone who had five million miles. BOOM! Shuts me up really quickly. There’s a time for bravado and a time for discretion. Maybe that’s why most people don’t like to talk about how much MS they do each month. Anyway, this post isn’t about miles and points.
As you all know, I got an Audi S5 last month. A quick update on that – over a month later, I still love driving the car. Every time I get in the car and drive to work, I have a smile on my face. Every time I gun the gas on the freeway onramp, I have a smile on my face. Every time I have to make the monthly ~$700 payment, I sorta cringe, but then block it out 2 minutes later. Moral of story – no regrets whatsoever.
Anyway, back to the bigger stick topic. I thought I was happy with my Audi S5…. that was until my brother in law just bought a used 2005 Aston Martin DB9. My buddy had test driven the Vantage a while back (the same guy who wanted the S5 when it came out.) He thought it was pretty ‘stiff;’ you can make your own guess what he meant by that. But a DB9 is in another league compared to the Vantage. It’s one sexy looking car; almost like the Ferrari Berlinetta in ‘Bad Boys 2.’

After reading his posts, I can’t say that I’m not envious about the DB9. Man, I’d love to have bought that thing. I just keep reminding myself of how the Audi S5 probably is more technically advanced (2011 vs 2005) like having an SD card reader in radio, automatic wipers, automatic headlights, etc. But man oh man, sheer looks wise, it’s no match to the gorgeous DB9. I can’t wait to get down to Texas again so I can ride and maybe drive that beast!
