It’s been a long 5 weeks since I had applied for the Chase United Business card. Then about a week ago, I had to call reconsideration to ask about the status of it and plead my case. I didn’t want to call back to get chastised on the phone again, so I waited it out. Well a couple of days ago, I got an email to let me know that I was approved. Who would have thought it’d be so stressful in getting 50,000 United miles? I can bang that out in a month with reselling through shopping portals. That and the fact I don’t even need or want any more United miles. Ever since the devaluation a year ago, their partner award chart is outrageous.
Anyway, so after I got that approval email, I get this little nugget a couple of days later. I did some research and this is basically the highest offer on the card for a while. There was a time when they also gave a statement credit (which I should have done at the time, but oh well.) It gives you 50K on signup, another 5K for adding a user, and if you spend $25K, you’ll get an additional 10K miles for a total of 65,000 miles. I will NOT be spending $25K just to get an extra 10K miles. I think I’ll wait until early May to sign up for it. Again, not because I need or want United miles; it’s because why would I NOT take a free 55K miles?
