With today’s hot deal around the $25 off $100 Staples AMEX offer that was only good for actual AMEX cards (instead of a Twitter hashtag), I decided I needed to stop being lazy and finally add more authorized users to my wife and my new AMEX Business Platinum cards as well as my AMEX Business Gold card. I started with the Gold card:
Amex Business Gold additional users
Now I’m not trying to add additional Gold cards so that my authorized users can get additional benefits. I just want the card purely to use for AMEX offers. Notice how with the Gold card, you can add the Business Green card for FREE. And that’s what I did. Here’s what happens when you try to add users to my AMEX Business Platinum card:

5/16/15 Update – It seems that you can now add up to 5 AMEX GREEN authorized users for free ONLINE
Oh oh, no option for a free Green card. That’s when I remembered during the application process, I could have added additional users and I vaguely remember seeing a Green card option. I would have done it at signup, but remember I was in a rush to get these cards before the end of the year. So I called up the number on the back of my Business Platinum card and asked the CSR if additional Green cards were free. She said YES. I proceeded to add the additional cards. Note that you do need a birthdate and ssn handy for the additional cardmembers. I remember reading that it might not be necessary over the phone; I was tempted to try, but did not.
