How I did on those Gin Blossoms New York tickets

A reader gave me a tip to buy the Gin Blossoms for a show in New York.  When he mentioned that, I then tried to remember how many songs I could name, and even as I type this, I can’t think of a single song, but I vaguely remember a couple of songs being hits way back in the day.  At this point in their careers, they’re playing club-sized venues (not even orchestra sized venues I don’t think.)  Anyway, the tickets were about $38 all in, and for a market like New York, it was cheap enough that I put it on a 3.5 on the risk/reward scale.  Plus, all the people who actually remember the Gin Blossoms are old and have money these days.

The show was only 2 weeks away, so I immediately listed them on Stubhub.  When I say immediate, I waited 4 days due to laziness.  Luckily I did that because the prices for the show went up significantly.  I was able to sell them in 5 days and also 5 days out from the show.  I had a take-home net of $28 for the pair, an ROI of 37%.

Before you get cute and try to buy more of their tour. a lot of tickets are still available except St Louis for some reason.  I’m not sure if they’re from the area or if the venue is small enough to sell out (I’m too lazy to research now.)  Now go enjoy their #1 hit song “Jealousy” – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ah5gAkna3jI
