Be careful with Ticketmaster’s dynamic pricing

I was buying John Mayer MSG tickets last week, and I was pretty late to get into the queue.  I found some floor tickets and on the main screen, the price showed $149.  However, once I added them to my cart, the price jumped up to $199.  I thought that was very odd.  I also had some friends buy tickets as well and they experienced it as well.  I’m not sure if it was based on when they bought (they bought before me).  For instance, one person bought a row in front of me and paid $410 all in for a pair.  I had to pay $472.  This was in the same section, and it wasn’t where the price break was (I think it’s due to when it changed from $149 to $199 in my cart.  Lesson Learned – early bird really gets the worm.  And watch out for TM’s dynamic pricing!
