Bank of America Alaska Business card asking for proof of business

It seems harder and harder to get the BoA business AS cards these days.  A while back, they asked me to open up a CD.  Recently, they asked me to show proof of my business.  You can read the letter below.  I had heard of another person getting the same thing, but I didn’t think much of it.  I don’t plan on jumping through their hoops.  This could be because my credit score at the time was a 730.  Who really knows.   If you got this letter and jumped through the hoops to get the card, let me know how it turned out.

  1. I got this letter today for the Alaska Business. First time trying for the Business variant. Not sure what I will do considering my “business” is just getting started.

  2. got my biz alaska card last year since it isn’t affected by 2/3/4. I got the same letter as you, called them and explained that I am sole proprietorship that I don’t have legal documents, Just sent in my tax return and and a piece of paper explain nature of my “reselling” business. Then I got a letter asking for CD opening which I had to do in branch, then I finally got my card lol

  3. Legitimate business, 845 credit score, and I got the letter. Spoke on the phone with them, gave them everything they required included tax information and still got denied. Oh and was 0/24 when I applied. Reason given: “insufficient information on the business bureau” and “credit references not been established for sufficient length of time”. Worse is that it took longer than 30 days and they did another hard pull.

  4. Haha! Weird! I was ON THE PHONE WITH BofA about my Alaska card when this email hit!

Same as Too Nasty. Got my Biz card when I got my personal card, no problems. Then again, all my finance action is with them and Merrill Lynch so they have to act like they love me, I think.

  5. My girlfriend always gets that letter when she tries to apply. I skate through unscathed. Who knows the rhyme or reason…
