A $50 typo on Vivid Seats

You would think by now, I’d be double and triple checking my ticket flips, but lo and behold, I’m STILL making mistakes.  I had posted some tickets on Vivid and wrote down row X (typo) instead of row Z (my tickets.)  When I went to ship out the tickets, that’s when I recognized the mistake.  I emailed Vivid immediately of the mistake and they said they’d reach out to the buyer.  A day later, they approved the new tickets; however, they slapped me with a $50 fee for the mistake.  I’m guessing this was the consolation to the buyer to keep the tickets.  The pair sold for $200, so it was a 25% penalty.  On the bright side, it could have been worse on Stubhub.

Lesson Learned – double AND TRIPLE check your tickets and listings.  Assuming it takes you a minute to double check things like this, that’s a $3,000/hr mistake.

  1. I wonder if the typo would have made the actual tickets better than the ones listed, would you still be charged a fee?
