Introduction
I had an overnight layover in LAX en route to Costa Rica and was looking for the cheapest LAX hotel due to the early morning flight the next day. I picked the Hilton since a) it had an airport shuttle and b) it was only 38K points, which I equated to $76 worth of MS.
Checking in
The hotel was under reconstruction while we were there. Not sure if we were upgraded to an executive floor because of our Diamond status or if that was the room I had actually booked. Either way, the executive lounge was decent.
Executive lounge
We had dinner plans with friends so only checked it out for a few minutes. We had some eggrolls and fruit and left. Sodas were complimentary while beer and wine had a fee. In the morning, they had some complimentary hot items.
Room
Your typical airport hotel. Nothing much to say. There were 2 bottles of water in the room. We didn’t even try out the WiFi.
Conclusion
Value-wise, I think this was the best option for LAX. Let me know otherwise.

You didn’t get free breakfast in the restaurant for being Diamond? Even Golds are supposed to get free breakfast in the restaurant. The Crowne Plaza is also cheap to MS with its 5x on all spend.
They never even told me. Bastards.
I’ve had to ask many times, but I’ve always gotten into Hilton restaurants for breakfast as Diamond and as Gold.
