Another round of Hamilton NY tickets

Introduction

Like a moth to a flame, I can’t stay away from Hamilton NY tickets.  A reader tipped me off that the Holiday 2017 “block” would go on sale on Tuesday morning.  I had no idea and even went on the Hamilton site and Twitter feed and didn’t see a thing.  The only way to have known was by looking on the TM site and noticing new dates had been loaded.

I made the very rookie mistake of thinking it was going on sale at 10AM PST (I thought TM changed the time based on my login,) but it was actually at 10AM EST (local time.)  So imagine myself in the bathroom at 6:58AM thinking, “Hmmm..what if…….” and sure enough, the tickets were available.  After a while, my wife yelled at me to get out, but I had money to be made.  Ticketmaster also raised the limit to 10 for this batch.

Applying all of my Hamilton lessons learned

  1. I only bought in December since I wanted the “Christmas in New York” crowd.  Looking back, I should have picked a date between Christmas and New Year’s, especially Saturday Dec 30.
  2. I tried for Saturday nights first and was able to get 3 Saturday night shows!
  3. No more $850 premium tickets for me!
  4. I bought the BEST cheap tickets.  That meant $200 tickets in FRONT MEZZANINE.  Didn’t matter what row.  I picked best seats avail in FMEZZ and bought them ASAP and moved on to the next date.
  5. Buy on mobile instead of desktop (for some reason, mobile was MUCH FASTER than the web site.)
  6. By the 4th round, almost all the Saturday tickets were sold out.  I eventually bought a cheap Orchesta Friday night and then a Thursday night as well.  I didn’t particularly like the Thursday night showing, but I was 15 minutes in at this point and nothing was available anymore.

Conclusion

To add insult to injury to the “public,” Ticketmaster blasted out the email at 10:20AM and so of course by then, all the good seats were taken.  So thanks to my reader for tipping me off.  I plan on posting all of these on TM and stay away from the Stubhub dual listing stress.  I’m hoping I can net $500 per ticket; it’d be my most PROFITABLE morning restroom break of all time!

      1. Tough because it’s a friday night ? or because almost a year from now.. only 1 row was available for 549 rest all for 849 ? Not sure if it’s worth taking the risk…

    1. I don’t know this answer. Maybe subscribe on their site somewhere, but beware; they could be gone by the time the email comes out. Just gotta have your ears to the ground.

    1. No, the trick is if you search for Hamilton NY, you’ll see like 500 results. Try on a new day and it may say 600 results. That’s the only way to know when new dates have been loaded.

        1. I think you’re referring to how to check whether there is availability on a certain date, whereas Vinh is referring to whether new shows have been added
