I haven’t gotten back into reselling since the December sales. I decided to focus on MS and so I wanted to put a hold on the $40 monthly fee for the Amazon FBA PRO account. As a matter of fact, I should have done it a long time ago. Anyway, no one knew the answer, even Google, to this question:
Do I lose my ungated categories if I downgrade my Amazon FBA account?
Eventually one of my readers told me the answer – YES, YOU GET TO KEEP YOUR GATED CATEGORIES if you downgrade from a PRO account to a normal account and then upgrade back to a PRO account later down the road.
Lessons Learned
If you are just a ‘part-time reseller,’ it would behoove you to downgrade during the slow months and then upgrade when you ramp back for the Holiday season (to save you on the $1 per item sold fee.)
And you can easily downgrade and then a month later upgrade again? I’ll be out of the country for a month and won’t have anything at FBA during that time, so it would be great to save $40 and put that toward our trip instead. Every little bit helps.
I’m not sure how tolerant Amazon is with ping-ponging, but I would do it.
