Amazon FBA – How to remove feedback that is not your fault

Introduction

I don’t check my seller feedback that often on FBA.  I should do it more often, but I only log on like once a week.  Anyway, I was going through my feedback yesterday and noticed my rating was only 4.8 instead of 5.0.  That was because of 2 neutral reviews.

Reviews because of FBA shipping

The first review I wanted removed was this review:

Clearly this is Amazon’s fault for sending the toaster in the original box vs putting it inside an outer box.  So I contacted FBA and wrote this.  Short and sweet.

Within a couple of hours, I got this response back from Amazon:

Greetings from Amazon Seller Support,

Thank you for contacting us.

We have confirmed that the feedback you submitted for our review on order #111-xxxxxxxxxxxxxx was in violation of our feedback policy. Therefore, we have removed the rating so it will not affect your performance, and we have stricken through the inappropriate feedback.

Any portion of the comment that applies to the condition of your product as indicated on your listing or any service that you provide to the customer will remain.

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

Product Reviews

And here’s the 2nd neutral review, which is a product review (and not a seller review).   You’ll notice that people will confuse product reviews with seller reviews a lot on FBA.

I mean, if it’s a “nice toy,” why would you give it 3 stars?  Especially if your daughter likes it?  I mean, what would earn 5 stars?  I just don’t understand people.  And how is this a seller review?  Anyway, the 2nd review actually got removed within 1 minute!  This was their response:

Greetings from Amazon Seller Support.

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

Feedback has been removed.

I have confirmed that the feedback on Order ID:109-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, which you submitted for our review, was in violation of our feedback guidelines because it was considered as a product review. Therefore, I have removed the inappropriate entry. This will not affect your metrics any more.

Thank you for being a valuable seller on Amazon, I hope this helps for your future endeavor and I wish a success ahead.

Lessons Learned

If you’re just starting out on FBA, you want to have 100% positive ratings, so make sure you get feedback that isn’t your fault removed off of FBA.

Update Reader Josh says there is an easier way – “From Seller Central, click Help>Contact Us>Selling on Amazon>Customers and Orders>Enter the Order ID of the relevant feedback>select Customer Feedback Removal Request.”

  1. There’s a wayyyy easier way to do this. A very simple Google search would’ve revealed this easier way.

From Seller Central, click Help>Contact Us>Selling on Amazon>Customers and Orders>Enter the Order ID of the relevant feedback>select Customer Feedback Removal Request.

All my requests have been automatically approved instantly.
