So all the blogs today are covering this, and I don’t usually like to regurgitate information, but I’m doing it today because I’m going to shamelessly promote the site. As you can see, the site has no credit card affiliate links. I make money on Google ads, Amazon ads (which I appreciate you guys using, and referral signups on my Support the Site page which amounts to beer money. And once or twice a year, SPG will have a refer a friend program whereby the referrer gets 5K points and you guys get the full public 30K points. If you already have an SPG card and know a friend who wants one, you can use this link to refer them to get your bonus points. The link seems to be for the BUSINESS CARD, but I have a PERSONAL card, so my friend got a link to the PERSONAL one. Your friend will need to give you the email address that they plan on using to signup for the card.
UPDATE – If you check your email today, you’ll see a link to both PERSONAL and BUSINESS referrals. I think you can only refer PERSONAL if you have PERSONAL and BUSINESS if you have BUSINESS. I tried to refer a BUSINESS card and got an error. So if you need a BUSINESS card, just go Google the public link. If you need a PERSONAL one, shoot me an email.
Remember that the personal bonus is ONCE A LIFETIME. The business card rules say: “Welcome bonus offer not available to applicants who have or have had this product within the last 12 months.” The best way to play the business card is for you to get one this year, then in year 2, you cancel and get your significant other to apply. In year 3, they cancel and you get the business one again. Rinse and repeat. And no, you don’t need an EIN to get the Business card. Sell stuff on Ebay? Etsy? That qualifies as a sole prop.
You can also apply for BOTH personal and business on same day, and AMEX will only hit your credit report ONCE.

I got the SPG link, and was able to refer my +1 for a business SPG card. This is the best deal for couples…35K SPG pts.
I thought it the Biz was 12 months since the bonus, not since you had the card? I think Citi is the one where it’s “Since you had the card”. Correct me if I’m wrong.

I have had the personal and am in the market for the biz card. Can I use your personal card link and you still get the referral bonus on my business card approval?
I just checked; seems you can only refer biz if you have a biz card. same for personal. So if you need biz, just go find the public link. Thanks for the support though.
