I don’t usually write about current deals just because if you follow most of the big blogs, they’ve already told you about these deals. However, there have been so many that I felt like I needed to write this post:
- Change your Hilton password by 3/25 for a free 1,000 points – http://hhonors3.hilton.com/en/policy/hhonors-security-update-faqs.html. I forgot I had signed up my Mom for a Citi Hilton 2 years ago, and they gave her an inferior version and never got around to keeping it active, and so her points expired after 12 months (just learned that). Shame on me! Anyway, I just got her 1K points for her account.
- Link your Twitter account to Club Carlson for 1,000 points – http://blog.clubcarlson.com/club-carlson-hashtaghotel/. I did this for myself yesterday, but probably should do this for my wife’s account too.
- The last day to load Serve with a credit card is April 16th. Now there’s really no reason to keep Serve, and you should all move to Redbird.
- Tweet #AmexLowes for $10 off $50. Lowes sells Amazon gift cards. However, I decided to buy Ebay gift cards instead since I still have a stack of $50 gift cards from the last Office Depot deal. Plus, Ebay gift cards can be used to buy other gift cards.
- Tweet #AmexChevron for $5 off $25. I tried to buy a gift card at my local Chevron months ago and was told, “Sorry, cash only for gift cards.” These were iTunes gift cards too. Crazy policy.
- Also remember that the last day to apply for a Barclay’s US Air card is April 12th. I got one a little over a month ago, so I’ll try again when time is near in case they want to give them out like candy.
- I also cancelled my Barclay’s Arrival (free) version today so I could get another Arrival+ down the road. I had downgraded the + version down to the free one in January since I still had 200,000 points. After a couple of hotel cancellations, I now have a $2K+ credit balance and left less than 1,000 Arrival points upon cancellation. I rationalize it by thinking those 1K points as the 0.22% out of the 2.22%, so it’s just collateral damage
